India Coal Washing Industry to Offer Immense Potential in Future
The Indian coal sector is of strategic importance to the Indian economy with coal meeting more than 50% of its energy requirements. India’s total coal reserves comprising mainly of low quality coal as the Indian coal has high ash content and embedded impurities. In addition, the quality of Run-of-Mine (ROM) coal from Indian mines is continuously decreasing due to the geographical pattern of coal seams in coal bed. The quality deteriorates as excavation process goes deep inside the mine. However, there are various industries, mainly power, which require high quality coal with low ash content.
