Direct To Consumer: The Road Ahead in Genetic Testing

According to a new report by RNCOS, “Global Genetic Testing Market Forecast to 2015”, direct-to-consumer genetic tests have emerged amid a period of rapid growth especially due to the minimum regulations posed on them. Amongst several markets, developed countries have been effectively witnessing a surge in the number of companies offering testing services over the internet. Countries including US, UK, and Canada have the leading edge in this category as compared to others. DTC tests are commonly done for mutations that cause cystic fibrosis, hemochromatosis, and Fragile X syndrome.
